Activity description

During this tour, we combine observation and photography activities in different areas of the provinces of Jaén and Ciudad Real.

We will conduct three days of active searches for Iberian lynxes in the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park and the Guarrizas River Valley, and two days of Iberian lynx photography in specialized photography hides on a private property in the province of Ciudad Real.

The photo hides have different features depending on the number of participants and are subject to availability, with capacity for 1 to 6 people. The hides are equipped with chairs, spy glass, and some have toilets.

During the tour, your guide will explain the characteristics of their habitat, as well as aspects of their biology and behavior, and you will follow specific routes and wait at common observation sites.

You'll also be able to learn about some of the conservation efforts that have been carried out in the area to recover populations of this endangered species.

We recommend alternating 4x4 tours with waiting at photo hides throughout the five days to make the experience much more enjoyable and successful.

The 4x4 vehicles used for this activity will be limited to three seats, so that each participant has a window to photograph the species we observe.

The itinerary will be tailored to the species you wish to observe, but will always focus on observing and photographing wild Iberian lynxes as the main objective.

During the tour, it is also possible to observe a multitude of species, mainly birds, mammals, and also reptiles or amphibians depending on the time of year.

In addition, we will try to show you any footprints, tracks, or areas we have previously located that indicate the presence of the Iberian lynx.

Let your guide recommend you; the experience and information you gain about sightings each day will make your visit much more successful.
