Activity description

Enjoy three full-day 4x4 tours led by expert local guides in the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park and the Guarrizas River Valley, with the goal of observing the Iberian lynx in the wild.

During the tour, your guide will explain the characteristics of their habitat, as well as aspects of their biology and behavior, and you will follow specific routes and wait at common observation sites.

You'll also be able to learn about some of the conservation efforts that have been carried out in the area to recover populations of this endangered species.

The itinerary will be tailored to the species you wish to observe, but will always focus on observing and photographing wild Iberian lynxes as the main objective.

The tour consists of three consecutive days of searching for Iberian lynx, combined with visits to the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park and the Guarrizas River Valley. There is also the option to visit the nearby Despeñaperros Natural Park for birdwatching.

The itinerary between both areas can be combined or modified during the tour based on your interests by consulting with your guide.

During the tour, you can also observe a multitude of species, mainly birds and mammals, and also reptiles or amphibians depending on the time of year, as well as Mediterranean forest or riverside ecosystems, home to the Iberian lynx and the European otter.

In addition, we will try to show you any footprints, tracks, or areas we have previously located that indicate the presence of the Iberian lynx.

Let your guide recommend you; the experience and information you gain about sightings each day will make your visit much more successful.
