The Sierra de Andújar offers unique experiences throughout the year. However, there are certain periods that stand out for their natural phenomena and special activities:
Autumn (late September to October): This is the rutting season of the fallow deer , where males bellow (in the case of red deer) or grunt (in the case of fallow deer) to attract females and establish their territorial dominance. This natural spectacle is a major attraction for many visitors.
Spring (March to May): During these months, the park displays its floral splendor and is an excellent time to spot migratory and summer birds, as well as other species that inhabit the area.

Summer (June to August): Although temperatures can be high, the early and late hours of the day are ideal for birdwatching, taking advantage of the cooler hours. The Iberian lynx is one of the crepuscular and nocturnal animals that can be observed during this time. Furthermore, they regularly come to watering places to quench their thirst, making it possible to observe them.

Winter (December to February): The mountain range offers winter landscapes and the chance to observe birds of prey in courtship, such as the Spanish imperial eagle. During December and January, we can also enjoy the mating season of the Iberian lynx, where their calls and meows can be heard, and they are most active throughout the day.

Additional tips
Book in advance: Especially during events such as the Iberian lynx rut or mating season, it's advisable to book accommodations and activities in advance due to high demand.
Appropriate equipment: Wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for outdoor activities. Don't forget sunscreen, insect repellent, and a water bottle.
Respect for the environment: Follow the guides' instructions and respect the rules of natural areas to preserve these unique natural environments.
We hope this information will be useful for planning your visit and enjoying the wildlife and landscapes that the Sierra de Andújar and the Guarrizas River Valley have to offer.
