Activity description

Enjoy a 4x4 excursion led by expert local guides through the public areas of the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park and its surroundings, with the goal of observing birds in the wild.

During the tour, your guide will explain the characteristics of the habitat, as well as aspects of the biology and behavior of the birds observed. You will follow specific routes and wait at common observation sites, identifying the species with high-end binoculars and telescopes, or by their songs.

The activity takes place in the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park and its surroundings, in the province of Jaén, and the itinerary may vary depending on the species you wish to observe. Our goal, however, will be to see as many species as possible, especially endemic or species with limited distribution.

In the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park, we have an excellent population of birds of prey, such as the Spanish imperial eagle, the European owl, and the black vulture, the latter having one of the five existing colonies in Andalusia.

During the tour, you can also observe a multitude of species of mammals, reptiles, and amphibians, depending on the time of year. The entire route passes through areas home to Iberian lynx and other species such as deer, fallow deer, mouflon, and wild boar.

Let your guide recommend you; the experience and information you gain about sightings each day will make your visit a much more successful experience.
